Back in to the swing of things...

Well, the first week+ of July has come and gone...and I haven't done much of anything. I think I have logged a total of 7 miles running. Gulp!

I admit, it was really nice to go on vacation and to not feel forced to run. I also admit, it's really, really hard for me to get back into a routine. I had one run on Thursday which was good, though I couldn't recall the last time I had been so sore after a measly 4 mile workout.

But after Sunday, I feel redeemed. A group of Daily Mile and non Daily Mile friends were going for a ride up to Nyack, and more importantly, were going to stop at the Runcible Spoon Bakery. I had hemmed and hawed about my participation. The hills! I haven't ridden my bike in over a week! 40 miles! 7:30am! I could have gone on and on, but the important thing was I did go, and I had a blast. I feel redeemed after a 38 mile bike ride.

Though I had some Garmin issues (aka forgot to start it at times) here is the basic route/elevation for the ride. http://connect.garmin.com/activity/40054656

Hoping to start rebuilding all those miles and getting back into the swing of things!

  1. Sounded like you all had a great time! 40 miles is quite a bunch though. Wow! A bit jealous that I don't own a bike and can't participate.

Hoping you find your way back to a good running/x-training routine soon!

  2. Thanks Lam :) I actually felt really good after the ride, although there were a few hills there was a lot of flat parts that helped you recover!
